We are dedicated to providing 24-hour-a-day personal service to seniors, assisting them in daily activities and helping them maintain an active lifestyle. We provide each resident with an opportunity to enjoy his or her physical, emotional and spiritual lives while being professionally cared for when needed. Our goal is to promote a resident's self-direction and participation in decisions that emphasize independence, choice, dignity, privacy, individuality, and a homelike atmosphere.
In 1991, Mike Hudman, a retired Springfield fire marshal, and his mother June, a former foster care provider, combined skills and passions to start up Gateway to provide compassionate assisted senior living care. June passed away in 2008 and left behind a legacy of excellence in senior care that sets the standard to this day.
In 1995, Mark Kinkade joined Mike and June to help oversee the growth of Gateway and he eventually became a partner. Today, Mike and Mark are the local owners and run the day-to-day operations of Gateway Living with their management team.
Our staff is dedicated to providing 24-hour a day personal care to our residents, assisting them in daily routines and encouraging them to remain as active as possible. All residents are offered activities to help them enrich and enjoy their lives, while receiving caring, professional assistance. We take pride in maintaining a cheerful, family environment where your loved one can feel safe and at home.
